Most recently, students have been learning about the importance of annotation text that they are reading. Students are able to write on the actual text - making important notes about things they do not understand, questions that they have, identifying a theme to name a few. Annotation slows down the reader in order to deepen understanding!

Our classroom library is important to us so that we are able to gain a love for reading. Here, students are given the opportunity to engage in texts that reflects their personal interests. Students play an important role into the development of the classroom library because students are responsible for recommending books they've read to their peers.
